Stoneware block reminiscent of an industrial wall fragment.
On one side, an old photograph found at a flea market: a couple posing, the man looking straight into the camera with proud confidence, the woman beside him in profile, turned elsewhere.
Their gazes never meet, suggesting a missed connection, a story shifting, moving, changing direction.
Above them, the hand-painted yellow words “direzioni diverse” act like an urban graffiti tag: both title and commentary, a blunt label on what is happening.
Concept:
The piece is inspired by the walls and industrial sheds along the R2 Sud railway line between Barcelona and Sitges: worn surfaces, writings and images that keep rewriting a stillliving landscape.
The vintage photograph – with that couple looking in two different directions – becomes a starting point, a microstory about relationships that fall out of alignment over time.
The title echoes the track “Direzioni diverse” by Il Teatro degli Orrori, which gave the piece its tone: distance, memory, and the possibility of a change.
